Tollcross, Edinburgh
A few pictures of the rubbish in Tollcross on morning of 18 September 2006 on walk to work.

Fresh graffiti on our Lochrin Buildings front door. The same 'tag' was put on our door just a week ago with indelible marker. The whole area is covered with graffiti. Several times they have gained access to our common stair and scrawled graffiti on the recently decorated walls. We have also found needles and had people defecate in the stair well following injecting. The council did remove most of the graffitti from the street a few months ago but this was quickly replaced.

Another victim of last night forcing a call out from the fire brigade.

Home Street. Note graffiti on door.

Corner at West Tollcross.

Outside Lava Ignite the source of many of the problems. When this club empties out after 3am, round Tollcross there is shouting, fighting, sounds of bottles being smashed, regular breaking of shop windows. While the club (formerly know as Cavendish club) was closed for three months following the death of one of its staff (Scotsman and Evening News) the area was much quieter.

Despite several complaints to environmental wardens, the above bin for a new restaurant at Lochrin Buildings is in the street 24/7 and frequently over filled.

New green flood lights at 4-8 Lochrin Buildings.
